"I recently had the pleasure to hold a wine tasting with Clemens von Eltz in the Maldives, representing the German Riesling in many variations (such as Kabinett, Erstes Gewächs, Auslese and Beerenauslese), when Clemens brought this special form of presentation of wine to my attention: Wine in tubes.

 

Balthasar Ress (an old, established family winery in the Rheingau region, dating back to 1870 and run in the fifth generation) has filled practical and elegant 100 milliliter glass tubes with three different wines: a 2007 Riesling Auslese from the Hattenheimer Nussbrunnen site; a 1999 Riesling Beerenauslese from the Oestricher Doosberg site; and a crowning touch with a 2002 Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese from the Rüdesheimer Berg Rottland vineyard - a wine of the century. ..."
