„The cherry colored 2015 Rheingau Pinot Noir Trocken "Caviar" is an impressive red that is sourced from the Hattenheim Hassel (grand cru) and Hallgarten Hendelberg (1er cru). Loaded with ripe dark fruits and a hint of coconut on the deep and elegant nose, this is a full-bodied, intense, well-structured, fresh and elegant Pinot Noir with a long and tensioned finish. The wine has a silky texture and is pure, round and fruity but structured by fine tannins and crystalline acidity, whereas the aromatic finish reveals charming coconut and chocolate notes. Destemmed by hand and fermented as whole berries in open barriques, with no pump-overs, no punch-downs, just stirred by hand and aged in new barriques from Gauthier, this is an excellent effort that can be aged for decade or more.
