At long last, our most important wine by far - our calling card - is finally available again:

2012 "Von Unserm" Rheingau Riesling trocken.

This house brand of Balthasar Ress has been in use for more than 140 years. As such, it numbers among the oldest brands in the history of German viticulture. The grapes for "Von Unserm" are sourced from selected vineyards in our holdings throughout the Rheingau, particularly in Hattenheim and Hallgarten, whereby the Hallgarten sites play an increasingly important role. Twenty years ago, one had to wait until well into November for the grapes in the Rheingau's highest-lying sites to ripen. Today, due to climate change, the Hallgarten vineyards have a clear advantage. The grapes can usually remain on the vine longer, and thereby develop more aroma. In 2012, we once again succeeded in preserving all these aromas from vine to bottle. "Von Unserm" is a perfect companion for every day, with or without food. The 2012 "Von Unserm" is an unbelievably ripe and juicy wine with a wonderfully harmonious acidity.
