The older a well-maintained vineyard becomes, the more concentrated and flavorful are its grapes and the easier it is to produce an expressive wine from them. The grapes for "VON UNSEREM S" are sourced exclusively from vines in mature vineyards - in 2011, a considerable portion from our holdings in the sites Bischofsberg and Klosterlay in Rüdesheim. An additional portion came from older vines in Hallgarten vineyards. Our oldest vineyards were harvested very selectively, and the resultant wine is correspondingly expressive. It is quite firm and reminiscent of yellow fruit. The acidity is perfectly integrated and the alcohol, while clearly present, is not overwhelming. The wine is already a pleasure to drink but it needs another three or four years to reach the peak of perfection. By the way, it goes especially well with all dishes with rich sauces - particularly, creamy sauces - and all of this at a price of 17,00 € / 75 cl bottle.
