Wine of the month: August 2011

Our 2010 Rheingau Pinot Noir Rosé trocken is perfect for late summer and early autumn, particularly while it’s still warm enough to barbecue. As such, our selection seemed to be a logical choice. Unfortunately, most of August was not really what one would expect of a summer month, but we’re optimistic that we’ll still have some great weather during which you can enjoy the 2010 Rheingau Pinot Noir Rosé outdoors with family and friends. Whether or not you opt for a barbecue, this refreshing Rheingau wine is excellent with all kinds of meats. It’s light and lively enough to pick up your spirits, come rain or shine.

The Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) grapes for this rosé are selected from the Ress family’s vineyards in various parts of the Rheingau, then carefully blended into a harmonious cuvée. After a very careful journey from vineyard to cellar, they are processed as gently as possible – no mashing, no pumping.

Try the 2010 Rheingau Pinot Noir Rosé. On the nose: reminiscent of preserved fruits, such as strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries. And thanks to its screw cap, it’s an uncomplicated pleasure.
