For many years, one of our most popular wines - and one that sells out fastest - has been our "Hattenheimer" village wine. Hattenheim is the wine village with the most VDP estates in Germany. No fewer than six of them are located there and in all, fifteen VDP estates have holdings in Hattenheim sites. This is not by chance. Nearly all of the village's vineyards have been classified VDP.GROSSE LAGE or VDP.ERSTE LAGE and thus, are of particularly high quality. Our village wine is a cuvée sourced from all these classified sites, and specifically, from the parcels that are not earmarked for a Grosses Gewächs or a wine from an individual site. A very special wine. Thanks to its fresh, off-dry character (it has ca. 30 g/l residual sugar), it goes well with many kinds of food. Try it as an apéritif; with a piquant Thai curry; or with hearty, country fare, such as "Hausmacher Wurst," or homemade sausage, including "Blutwurst," or blood sausage.
