VDP-Rheingau: Auction of Top-Quality Wines

This fantastic event with its very special atmosphere is not to be missed! The auction wines are all quite special, carefully selected wines of a vintage.

 

Auction wines can be sampled...
Prior to the auction at 1:00 p.m., wine enthusiasts have an opportunity to sample the wines in the lay brothers’ dormitory between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. The comprehensive pre-tasting enables you to select your favorites in advance. At the actual auction itself, a so-called “wet” auction, all wines except rarities and single-bottle lots are poured again and can be sampled before the auctioneer begins the bidding.

 

Pre-tasting also at the wine estate...
Because only a very limited quantity of our auction wine is available, it will not be poured during the auction. Therefore, we offer our customers as well as all wineBANKers an exclusive opportunity to sample it in advance at the wine estate. “Concentrated, very faint herbaceous aroma reminiscent of raisins, with hints of apple, herbal and floral tones, a trace of caramel as well as vegetal and earthy notes. Very sweet fruit with racy acidity, dried yellow fruit aromas, a bit of candy and caramel and more herbaceous tones, mouth-filling, concentrated and with lots of bite, earthy mineral and vegetal tones, a certaiin depth, very long finish. Could improve with bottle aging.”
