The extremely hot year of 2003 brought forth several truly outstanding wines - wines that now, ten years later, are a great pleasure to drink. The 2003 Riesling Auslese from the site Hattenheimer Engelmansberg doubtlessly numbers among them. Of Hattenheim's numerous classified sites, Engelmansberg is definitely one of the three best. The name Engelmannsberg derives from "Engilmann of Hattenheim," a knight who deeded his wine estates to Kloster Eberbach in 1321. The soils are deep and heavy and have a high water storage capacity. Perfect in hot years such as 2003. The price is 25 € / 75 cl bottle.
