News April/May 2015

In the course of several weeks, our 1973 T2b VW van was completely restored and rebuilt. We converted this former firefighters’ vehicle into a rolling wine pub – complete with a counter, sound system, refrigerators, dishwasher, as well as its own water and power supplies – thereby turning our old Bulli into a Riesling Bulli.

Here, too, we’ve come full circle, because our Bulli is not our first bus. In the 20th century, our family had its own bus line. It transported countless guests and tourists to and from Hattenheim’s landing stage on the Rhine and the “Klosterschänke” (wine pub) at Eberbach monastery. In those days, the wine pub was also run by the Ress family. Today, our Riesling Bulli serves a completely different function. It will be making stops at some of the most beautiful places in the Rheingau: in our vineyards in Hattenhem and Hallgarten and on the banks of the Rhine. Always filled with our wines. Well chilled, of course. We’ll let you know when and where in our next newsletter.

You can also rent our Riesling Bulli for your events and celebrations. We’ll be happy to come along to help you make your celebration an unforgettable experience. Please contact Carina Diepenbrock via phone ([+49 [0]6723/505 8469) or e-mail (carina.diepenbrock@balthasar-ress.de). She’ll gladly offer advice and answer all your questions about our Riesling Bulli.
