Message from Christian Ress July 2013

It goes without saying that once again, we'll be there with our stand on Dern'sches Gelände, next to the restaurant Lumen. As every year, we're offering you and your guests some "extras." Tables fill up quickly at the festival. Take advantage of the opportunity to reserve a table in advance. At best, via e-mail: tanja.kern@balthasar-ress.de. As usual, we're working with Bergkäse Station, the Alpine cheese shop in Wiesbaden. Via Balthasar Ress (Frau Kern), you can preorder a fantastic assortment of finest cheeses to enjoy with your guests. Last but not least: you can also preorder a selection of Iberico (Spanish) hams from our Weinbar & Vinothek (via Frau Kern). Due to many requests, we'll also accept company credit card payment for orders worth at least €100.

 

Our Weinbar & Vinothek will be open nonstop during the entire festival. It's a one-minute walk from our stand on Dern'sches Gelände to our venue on Mauergasse, where an "After Party" will take place every day, Monday through Thursday until 1:00 a.m.; Fridays and Saturdays until 2:00 a.m.; and Sundays until 10:00 p.m.

 

A very special event took place on 11 June: we salvaged the bottles of "RESSpekt" that we sank in the quarry pond in Dietz on the Lahn River three years ago. Media interest was gigantic, as was the echo. See and read for yourself. By the way, sinking RESSpekt did, in fact, pay off. The wine that underwent "underwater aging" developed quite differently from its counterpart in the cellar. When poured, the former was initially fresh, almost youthful. Given a bit of time in the glass, it showed magnificent volume and unbelievable power. At no time, though, would you guess that this wine already has four years "under its belt."
