Employee profile: Jens Buchta

Today, he’s responsible for important tasks in logistics and administration – and an indispensable member of our team.

 

Buyer, logistician, assistant office manager, responsible for all export procedures – all apply to Jens Buchta’s job at Weingut Balthasar Ress. It comes as no surprise, then, that he describes his job as being “quite diverse.” As a buyer, he orders the consumables for our wines – from wooden crates to Balthasar Ress labels – and sets up respective delivery schedules. As an export specialist, he organizes wine shipments to our customers and sees to it that deadlines are met.

 

As a logistician, he prepares shipping documents, such as customs declarations, invoices, and certificates of origin. Last but not least, as assistant office manager, he is a comptroller responsible for creating statistics to document important developments at the estate, and with his colleague Susanne Gotta, sets up office procedures. Given his close contact with freight forwarders, courier services, suppliers, and customers, Jens Buchta often deals with many nationalities and cultures – an aspect of his job that he finds fascinating.

In addition to his diverse responsibilities, the 26-year-old especially enjoys being part of a young, dedicated team in which everyone works well with one another.
