VDP Auction Results

Some 11,500 bottles of wine valued at 1.2 million euros changed hands at the VDP autumn auctions in the Mosel, Nahe, and Rheingau regions.

On 25 September, the finest wines of recent vintages and selected rarities came under the hammer at Kloster Eberbach monastery in the Rheingau. Fast and furious bids drove up prices bit by bit as each broker tried to secure the most sought-after top wines for his or her clients. We were able to sell our 2010 Hattenheim Nussbrunnen Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese for an incredible €630,70 and €315,35 for full- and half-sized bottles, respectively.

Once again, the tremendous enthusiasm of the public – our customers – during the auction was impressive and confirmed to all participating VDP estates that interest in these top wines runs high ... as does interest in the auctions themselves.
