There were anecdotes and information on each wine and vintage. Our estate manager, Dirk Würtz, reported on his e-mail communication with the former German Chancellor, Gerhard Schröder, and some of our guests turned in a brilliant performance when queried on their sports expertise. A truly successful evening with a very special surprise guest: German pop singer Markus, an NDW (Neue Deutsche Welle/New German Wave) star. He was there to bone up for an appearance at one of the wineBANKers' Tables next year.
