Message from Christian Ress September 2013

The harvest is close at hand. Doubtlessly, one of the highlights in the vintner’s year. And with it, yet another very special annual event is not far off – "Glorious Rheingau Days". For the 27th time, 2-10 November 2013, this series of superb wine and food events will showcase the talents of our beautiful region’s wine-growers and chefs de cuisine. As always, we’ll be participating. We look forward to seeing many familiar faces and making new friends.

 

Together with our friend Josef Laufer of the restaurant “Zum Krug” in Hattenheim, we’ll be celebrating our first “real” harvest on Sylt. Naturally, with specialties from land and sea.

 

The grand finale of the Glorious Rheingau Days, the Riesling Gala on 10 November in the lay brothers’ dormitory, is truly a highlight among the events. Once again, we’ll have a renowned guest winemaker at our table. Philipp Wittmann of Weingut Wittmann in Westhofen/Rheinhessen will join us, as will some of his wines. They certainly number among the finest wines of Germany.
