Message from Christian Ress June 2013

As such, we've used high-quality screw caps for a large portion of our wines for many years - even for our red wines. Our experience with screw caps has been extremely positive. The wines age perfectly and are free from annoying faults that can be caused by a cork. This year, we will also use a screw cap closure for some of our wines from top sites (VDP.GROSSE LAGE). In recent years, numerous tests and studies have confirmed that screw caps do not prevent wines from benefiting from bottle aging. Wines that should continue to develop in the bottle can do so perfectly well in bottles closed with screw caps. Naturally, we're aware of the traditions associated with the ritual of opening a bottle and the tactual moment. We also appreciate the importance that some wine enthusiasts still attach to these aspects of a cork. For this reason, we make every effort to purchase corks of extremely high quality and we will continue to use cork closures for a small portion of these wines in the near future. The bottom line for us is to do justice to the quality of the wine that we've worked so hard to produce. It is simply not acceptable for a bottle closure to ruin an entire year's work...particularly when it comes to our finest, premium-quality wines.

Our special subscription offer for these wines remains valid through June. Take advantage of this opportunity to purchase these truly extraordinary wines at a special price and secure your supply. At preliminary tastings, we've noticed that the wines have been extremely well received. Not surprisingly, wines of this caliber are limited in quantity.
