Some of our 2012 wines have been bottled and it wasn't long until the first reactions appeared. The trade press is enthusiastic about "Von Unserm," our most important wine. Marcus Hofschuster, editor-in-chief of "wein-plus," the largest German-language online wine guide, wrote: "Indeed, this is a statement. In a region in which most wines are labeled "dry" yet taste perceptibly sweet, Ress comes along with a bone-dry Riesling. And not with a niche product available in negligible quantities, but rather with umpteen thousand bottles of a "bread-and-butter" wine … with sufficient aeration, it already hints at what lies beneath the surface. It reflects its origin; it shows focused fruit; it is crystal clear, dry, mineral, and has a firm acidity that is buffered by substance rather than sugar - which is too often the case. According to so many German Riesling fans, Riesling should be taut, lean, racy, and pronounced in acidity. And then they turn around and drink a pseudodry, sweet-sour beverage. For those who are serious about pure Riesling, this is where it's at!" 86 (!) points"
