Employee profile: Franz-Jürgen Idstein

Order confirmations, warehouse deliveries, delivery receipts – these are all part of the daily work of our warehouse manager, Franz-Jürgen Idstein. During the past six months, he has assisted our estate manager, Dirk Würtz, with all kinds of tasks, but above all, processing orders as quickly as possible. This includes everything from procuring packing materials to seeing that bottles are properly labeled.

 

Materials administration is a whole new field for Franz-Jürgen Idstein, who was employed by an airfreight forwarding company prior to coming to Balthasar Ress. Although his work at an airport involved handling containers rather than cases of wine, monitoring and meeting deadlines was a top priority there, just as it is at our estate. Originally, the 57-year-old was trained as a maintenance engineer/fitter at the Opel plant in Rüsselsheim. In the course of his working career, he has also been a truck driver. We’re happy to be able to take advantage of the considerable experience he gained in these diverse positions.
