Employee profile September 2014

I’m a native Swabian, born in Stuttgart, and lived in the suburb of Filderstadt until I was 13. In 2002, my mother, sister, and I moved to Wiesbaden, where I finished up secondary school in 2007. I began a two-year viticultural apprenticeship at Weingut Schloss Vollrads the same year, after which I successfully completed my third year of training in Weinsberg/Württemberg at the state teaching and experimental estate for pomology and viticulture.

In August 2010, I did an internship at the Kellerei Tramin during the harvest. I did more practical training at Weingut Kaapzicht (Stellenbosch) in South Africa. My next stop was in the USA, where I was able to help out during the harvest at Weingut Stags Leap. In January 2012, it was onward to Australia to Weingut Robert Stein (Mudgee/Sydney) and then New Zealand to Weingut Giesen Ö(Marlborough).

After gaining this experience abroad, I decided to deepen my knowledge, and returned to the viticultural school in Weinsberg and enrolled in a program to become a state-certified technician for viticulture and oenology, which I successfully completed in July 2014. Now, I look forward to my fascinating position of Weingut Balthasar Ress.

What else can I tell you? In my free time, I enjoy sports, particularly soccer, tennis, and windsurfing. I’m an open-minded, fun-loving person; I love my work; and I’m interested in social issues.
