Balthasar Ress staff’s social engagement
The Bärenherz Foundation supports facilities that provide relief to families with children who are incurably ill and have a limited life expectancy. “Bärenherz has improved our quality of life,” says one affected mother. In 2008, the foundation received a BAMBI award for its volunteer work. Since 1948, the highly respected media award has paid tribute to those who have achieved something extraordinary through their actions, talents, and visions. Among the foundation’s current projects is the expanson of its children’s hospice in Wiesbaden to remedy the current facility’s space shortage. The new building is being financed primarily through donations. Vinocamp’s contribution, for example, will provide nice, new furnishings for a children’s room.
Wine Saves Life e.V. adds joy to life with wine
Although wine in moderation can foster good health, that is not the meaning behind the name Wine Saves Life. If refers to saving and protecting lives.
Founded in 2001, the organizers concluded that the price of a bottle of good wine could offer help to children in need – directly and unbureaucratically. Many of its members are wine enthusiasts or involved in the wine business, including our export manager, Clemens von Eltz, who is vice chairman of the managing committee of Wine Saves Life. Everyone has an opportunity to help add joy to the lives of needy children – even small donations can have a major impact.
