2001 Balthasar Ress "Von Unserm" Rheingau Riesling Sekt / Sparkling Wine brut
The practice of using “Von Unserm” to denote specially selected wines was started by Balthasar Ress, who founded the estate bearing his name in 1870. To this day the brand is still being used to denote the particularly fine wines, sparkling wines, and spirits of the house. The high quality of “Von Unserm” is designed to meet high expectations.
Carefully selected wines made from healthy grapes are used to produce Balthasar Ress Sekt (sparkling wine). Every cuvée is from one vintage and one grape variety. As such, each Sekt has a very indi-vidual character and guarantees a sparkling pleasure.
2000 Balthasar Ress Schloss Reichartshausen Riesling Auslese noble sweet
According to the wine law, the appellation Schloss Reichartshausen is an independent community rather than an individual vineyard site (a status shared by a handful of vineyards in Germany, e.g. Schloss Voll-rads, Schloss Johannisberg, Steinberg, Scharzhofbeg). However, its relatively small size (2.5 ha/6 acres) and its homogeneous nature lend the wines a very spe-cific character.
